188A (Business Innovation Stream) Visa

Entrepreneurship Opportunity:

Designed for aspiring business owners, this visa provides a 5-year temporary stay for running new or existing businesses in Australia. After holding the subclass 188 visa for three years, an additional 2-year extension is available, extending the total stay to six years from the original visa’s grant date. Permanent residence can be pursued thereafter.

Eligibility:

• Hold or have held a Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) Business Innovation stream for at least three years.
• Hold or have held a Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) Business Innovation Extension stream, without holding more than one Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) Business Innovation Extension stream visa.
• Be nominated by a State or Territory government agency.
