155 (Resident Return) Visa
Subclass 155 is a Resident Return Visa.

If an individual who is a permanent resident of Australia leaves the country after the travel validity on their visa expires, or if it expires when they are outside of Australia, they will not be able to return to the country with the status of a permanent resident. The RRV (Subclass 155) allows the individual to return to the country as a permanent resident.

Eligibility:

  • Be a permanent resident of Australia
  • Be a former Australian citizen who lost or renounced citizenship
  • Not have had a previous visa cancelled or refused
  • Have substantial ties (family, business, employment) in Australia that are beneficial to the country
