186 (Employer Nomination PR) Visa 
The Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186) Visa allows skilled workers who are nominated by their respective employer to live and work in Australia permanently.

Basic Eligibility:

  • Have the necessary skills for the job.
  • Be nominated by an Australian employer.
  • Meet the health and character requirements.

Subclass 186 Visa Streams:

There are three visa streams under the Subclass 186 visa –

  • Direct Entry Stream
  • Labour Agreement Stream
  • Temporary Residence Transition Stream

Features:

Under all the three streams of the Subclass 186 Visa, an individual can:

  • Work and study in Australia.
  • Stay in Australia indefinitely.
  • Enroll in Medicare – the public health care scheme of Australia.
  • Sponsor relatives to come to Australia.
  • Travel to and from Australia for 5 years.
  • Apply for Australian citizenship if eligible.

Eligibility for Direct Entry Stream (Subclass 186):

  • Have an occupation according to the relevant list of skilled occupations.
  • Have relevant work experience.
  • Be a licensed, registered, or a member of a professional body.
  • Be nominated by an Australian employer whose business is operating actively and lawfully.
  • Be under 45 years of age.
  • Have a positive skills assessment for the nominated occupation.

Eligibility for Labour Agreement Stream (Subclass 186):

  • Work currently or in the future for your employer under a labour agreement.
  • Have suitable English language skills.
  • Be under 45 years of age.
  • Be licensed, registered, or a member of a professional body if required.
  • If in Australia, hold a substantive 457 or TSS visa issued under a labour agreement.

Eligibility for Temporary Residence Transition Stream (Subclass 186):

  • Be licensed, registered, or a member of a professional body if required in the state/territory you intend to work in.
  • Be under 45 years of age when applying.
  • Have competent English.
  • Have the required skills and relevant work experience.
